


Holding up shileds while marching helps against flying arrows, also lets you use the *Shield Bash* technique (see "Swordsman") when you do meet enemy lines. Polearms are great for the initial clash and a few thrusts after that, but in close quarter, you'll want to switch to your two-handed weapon and start taking those mighty swings. Versus infantry: infantry armies aren't likely to be much faster than you, so line your soldiers up in a few large groups with shieldbearers (Sentinels) at the forefront and march on the foe's army.
